Although October is a no spend month for me (I'll save my update for later), it's also Fair Trade month. I'll admit I'm not always the perfect ethical shopper but I really try to be a more conscious consumer, do my research before clicking purchase and buy Fair Trade when I can. While buying Fair Trade items often costs more, I love knowing the story behind the makers of some of the items in my home. Fair Trade means artisans and makers are guaranteed a fair, livable wage for their work and many women can own and run their own small business. Considering those two things, I'm pretty sure I can make a case to consider purchasing Fair Trade when we can.
While I'm definitely not promoting spending especially while I'm also watching my pocketbook, I want to share some of my favorite Fair Trade shops and some items that are similar to ones I've purchased from these shops. If you're looking for home goods, gifts for the upcoming holidays or a nice treat for yourself, please consider shopping Fair Trade.
