Do you want to grow your own greens but don't have a green thumb and/or the space? We did so after some thought we invested in a vertical farm stand also know as the Lettuce Grow. Beautiful design, easy to use and delicious tasting greens straight from farm stand to table. Need I say more? Oh one more thing - great customer service.
First of all this isn't sponsored cause I don't really got it like that. So with that said here is an honest review of our Lettuce Grow journey 9 months in. First, I asked my sister who has garden beds how much it cost her since I was trying to justify the purchase. Considering what she told me and the space and time we had I decided it was well worth the cost. I found a coupon code for $50 off from a blogger so that helped a bit with the initial cost.
Our farm stand arrived at our old apartment in April. We had a decent sized deck and it took little room so although there were other choices, this suit us both for the look and size (we got the 30 plant stand). Set up was really easy and fun for my husband, daughter and I to do together.

A few weeks in:
First harvest. I honestly wasn't sure if it was ready or not but it was delicious either way.
Three months later after we harvested some of our plants, we moved to a bigger place but the weather wasn't as warm and sunny and we have a small, shared yard but again not a lot of sun. We moved the farm stand pretty easily and had hopes it would do well near a window - it didn't. We salvaged what we could and decided to wait for glow rings that came out in October it was July when we moved. It was really sad seeing our stand just stand there empty but October came soon enough (kind of).
We set up our stand with the glow rings mid-October and 2 weeks in had a little snafu with the power strip. We put our plants in water and on a ledge in front of our place, luckily it had been sunny so overall the plants did ok while we waited for a resolution and a new power strip. Since all that it's been about a month and here are some of our plants now:
Plants with glow rings:
We do light maintenance every Wednesday and the lights have been working well since. I will admit some of the plants didn't survive and went bad. I'm also noticing more bugs this time around so I need to look into that. Other than that, it looks pretty darn good, the cilantro and other herbs taste great and we plan to harvest a few plants this week for dinner. It's great to not have to worry about buying fresh greens and I'm hoping this encourages us to eat a little better in the coming months.
