With Thanksgiving just around the corner - I've put together some quick and easy ways to refresh your space for the holidays. Enjoy!
1. DECOR - Remember less is more (less setup and cleanup too). Simple tree decor, stockings and a few accents is all you need. Dried citrus slices are amazing both for the smell and versatile decor - from ornaments to garland or as a cocktail garnish. For florals, simply place several bud vases around your home with greens and filler like silver bell eucalyptus pods.
2. RESET YOUR SPACE - Moving furniture around to create flow and balance is a great way to refresh a room without spending a dime. You could also try burning a holiday smudge stick to energetically cleanse your space. While it may not be the best time to tackle large organizing projects, it's the perfect time to clear some of the clutter. You could start with tackling paper piles, mail, magazines, etc. Sort your papers into piles - to do, file, scan, shred, recycle. Place to do's in a basket and recycle and file the old paperwork away. Deal with the scanning and shredding in a timely manner so they don't become new piles.
3. BRING IN THE COZY - Cedar, pine or peppermint candles, throw blankets and warm drinks - need I say more?
4. REFRESH YOURSELF - I know this may seem like it has nothing to do with your space but stay with me. You and your space should align. Additionally, you will deal with what can be a stressful time much better if you too are refreshed. Read books in a variety of genres, create a holiday playlist, meditate, journal, take breaks, do a digital detox, exercise (even if it's just for twenty minutes), hug a puppy and set needed boundaries to protect your time.
