THE POWER OF EXPERIMENTING

When making changes or implementing new habits, is it easy for you to take one approach and make the changes quickly and easily? While that maybe true for some people, I often find that when we're implementing change or new habits, experimentation is key. Take diet and exercise for example. Trying one diet and/or exercise routine that may not work for us can lead to frustration and us wanting to throw in the towel. When making changes, it's not alway a one size fits all approach, we may have to tweak one method or combine a couple of methods. This is where experimenting comes in.

I bring this up because with decluttering, organizing and maintaining our space, adopting a few methods from various professionals and resources could be a good idea. While we as home organizers have our way of doing things that work for us and others, they don't always work for everyone, especially the maintenance part. Love the KonMari method but find some things don't work for you? Combine it with the Well Edited process or change it up a bit to make it your own. As long as you find the way that works best for you and you don't throw in the towel, experiment away! Here are a few tips as you start experimenting. You can use these in various areas of from decluttering and organizing, to getting in shape, to creating a new morning routine:

1. Try one method and if that doesn't work try other methods and take note of what works best for you.

2. Don't give up! Keep trying until you find the right way for you.

3. Be flexible. Even if you've found a way that works for you, life will change and you may have to change things up a bit.
